Cleansing a Microbore system is never easy. The systems was designed and installed in the late 1970s & 1980s. It can be identified by the Yorkshire Twinflow radiator valves.

Central heating systems with this type of valve cannot be Powerflushed and can only be cleansed.

The system
Twelve radiators were on the system, six did not work. The primary flow from the boiler was completely blocked.
The Cleanse

This was quite a difficult clean as the primary pipe was blocked, along with six radiators. The chemical used was stronger than used with a Powerflush. Within 2 hours the pipework was clear, so the system was flushed and a milder cleansing chemical was used.
The Result

The result was a success. The system is more efficient and heats up quicker.
Moreover, the homeowner is warm!
